Where are we?
The Lake District Coast Aquarium is on the quayside at Maryport, a small historic port on Cumbria’s western coast. We are easy to find, with official brown signs as you approach Maryport from any direction.
Pay Parking is available right outside the aquarium ( there are four disabled spaces) and a larger park is about two minutes walk away….just look for the signs as you approach the aquarium. There are some free spaces available tothe public next to the aquarium adventure playground..you may be lucky!
Directions by road. From Windermere, Kendal and Central Lakes follow signs to Keswick, then join the A66 to Cockermouth and pick up the signs for Maryport and the A594. Once in Maryport follow the brown signs for Harbour attractions.
From the M6 use junction 40 ( Penrith) and follow the A66 towards Cockermouth where you will find Maryport is signposted. Beware of `Traffic Safety` vans parked up waiting to catch speeding motorists. If there is light traffic there are long stretches where it is easy to let speeds increase above 60mph.
From Scotland or Carlisle, use the A596 (Workington) road which takes you straight to Maryport.
